Each list starts with the products shoppers are buying most in a category. We compare the published specifications, read owner reviews for recurring problems, and score every product out of 10.

The score weighs four things: how well the product does its main job, how easy it is to live with, what owners report after months of use, and what you get for the price.

We earn a commission when you buy through our links. Commission does not decide the order of a list.
